FAQs:
How does it work?
- MOVEMENT2BE provides our high quality curriculum, training and mentorship on how to run the program with your community, site, or school. We offer varying options on how to run the program based on the needs of your site, and we help to enhance fitness programs you may already be running with your youth
Will one of our staff be trained to run MOVEMENT2BE?
- Yes! We work with you to find 1-2 of your staff members who will receive training and mentorship by a fitness professional in order to run the program with the youth at your site
How long are programs?
- MOVEMENT2BE can be run in a number or way, but the curriculum is set to run for 8 weeks in the Fall, 15 weeks in the Spring, and 8 weeks in the summer for a total of 62 classes and 188 activities. Subscription options are for 2 semester or 3 semester programs.
How do I know the program is effective?
- The curriculum was created by physical therapists and strength and conditioning coaches who have extensive knowledge on brain development and neuromuscular control. Research has shown that programs such as ours have been proven to increase children's mental, social, emotional health as well as brain capacity for learning. Not only that, we have years of experience running the program in a number of facilities and have seen first hand its effectiveness - see our impact page.
What is the fee for this program?
- Fees vary based on the needs of each site, but we never want funding to be a barrier so we offer scholarships to centers unable to pay. Simply inquire when you apply.
Are the program fees tax deductible?
- No. Because we are providing a service, it is not tax deductible, but if you wish to make a donation, this would be considered a tax deductible gift. Donate Today!
How many kids can be in a program?
- We like to keep a 1:10 instructor to student ratio, capping each class at 20 students in order to provide the best program outcomes possible. We will work with you to find the best number of youth and number of classes run at your facility.
What age groups can the program be run with?
- The program is designed for grade school - ages 6-12
What if we don't have a facility?
- Our program is designed with flexibility and requires limited supplies and minimal space. An open space can include an outdoor area, open classroom, or gym in order to host the program. Supplies include things such as cups, tape, tennis balls, and string.
